Giulia Odetto

performer & theatre director

Interested in the creation processes both from a performative and a directorial point of view, in 2016 she founded the theater company “Effetto Pullman” for which she directs “Romei & Giuliette” and “Avesta”. Graduated in 2018 as an actress at the National Theatre of Turin by Mario Martone, a pioneer show of theatre technological research and movement. Thanks to this “Le maschere del teatro italiano” and “Premio Virginia Reiter” nominated her as best italian emerging actress/performer. Furthermore, from 2015 she is part of the organizing team of “Mirabilia international performing arts festival” in Fossano (CN), where she grew up, becoming in 2019 associated artist. From 2018 she studies with Collettivo EFFE the interaction between performance, design, and technology, In 2019 she became a Yoga Teacher in Rishikesh (India), deepening her awareness of the body. In 2020 she’s been selected as a young theatre director at the 48th edition of “Biennale di Venezia” with Onirica, a project studying the dream world and different states of perceptions. The same year she started a collaboration with the National Theatre of Turin as assistant director for Leonardo Lidi, Filippo Dini, and Valerio Binasco. In 2021 she is assistan director for Antonio Latella in “Who’s aftraid of Virginia Woolf?” produced by Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria. The same year she is inveted to Centro Teatrale Santa Cristina for the summer school and she is the winner of Powered by REf with the project Il mio corpo è come un monte that will see the premier at Romaeuropa Festival 2022.
